Fender Electric Basses

Fender not only excel at electric bass - they INVENTED it!  Fender's innovations in design, tone and feel have spawned countless imitators - none surpassing the original and the BEST!  Come in and see us or call today to discuss the Fender product right for you!

Fender Precision (P-bass)

Fender Standard Precision
Fender invented the Electric Bass in 1951 in response to requests from musicians for a louder, easier-to-handle bass. This new instrument was named the Precision Bass. Unlike its predecessor the acoustic stand-up bass, the P-Bass had frets, which allowed bassists to play with "precision." Needless to say, a "new playing sensation" was born and the sound of popular music changed forever. The new Fender Standard Precision features a comfort-contoured body, rosewood fingerboard and split-coil hum canceling pickup.

Fender Victor Bailey Jazz
Victor has made an indelible mark in the bass community - from assuming the reins in Weather Report following Jaco, to building a diverse resume and a prolific solo career. This beautifully crafted, exotic wood J-Bass incorporates a host of newly designed features from Fender's R&D department, including pickups, electronics, neck and body - as guided by Victor himself.

The sleek body design is comprised of a Koa top over Rosewood and Mahogany with a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Fender's new special design NoiselessTM pickups add warmth and lows which complement the hardwood body's natural clarity and brightness, resulting in an extremely dynamic tonal range. The circuitry has been tweaked at the input stage (pre-shape, boost and EQ settings) to enhance the unique sonic nature of the exotic woods. Bass EQ is centered at 40Hz 1 12dB with a 4dB per octave slope; treble is centered at 8 kHz 1 10dB with a 2dB per octave slope. The treble cut works more as a passive control for warm organic tones. The mid-control is centered at 500Hz and +10dB and -15dB with a wide-band slope creating a new distinctive voice. For maximum headroom, the circuit is powered by an 18-Volt supply. (U.S.)
